Damascus: 30 Dead, 100 Wounded in Blasts

Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad of Syria said, Friday, that 30 people were killed and 100 wounded in a pair of suicide car bombings in Damascus, Friday morning. Mekdad made his report as he accompanied an advance group of Arab League observers sent to monitor the government's violent suppression of anti-government protest that started in March.

He said the incident backs the government's claim that the unrest is the work of outside agitators. Preliminary reports linked the attack to the Al-Qaeda terror network.
