Germany Summons Syrian Ambassador

The German foreign ministry announced, Thursday, that it had summoned the ambassador of Syria to demand a stop to the violent suppression of anti-government dissent by the regime of President Bashar Al-Assad, according to Lebanon's Daily Star.

Boris Ruge, the head of Middle East affairs at the ministry, said, "The brutal acts by the security forces against the Syrian population are absolutely unacceptable and a flagrant violation of Syria's agreement with the Arab League."
