Most of the major indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened trading, Monday, with modest to moderate losses. The exception was the index of the 20 most-invested corporate bonds, which rose .02 percent to 272.29. The TA composite index opened at 973.18, down .31 percent, while the TA 100 declined .32 percent to 979.46, including an opening figure of 1,083.46 for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues, down a quarter of a percent.
With the insurance issues falling 1.26 percent to 1,026.33, the financial institutions opened at 882.91, down .98 percent, including a .66 percent decline by the bank stocks to 950.80. The communications index opened at 764.06, down 1.16 percent while the oil and natural gas stocks fell .68 percent to 1,176.31. The same percentage drop meant a 723.94 opening for the biomed stocks, while the other technology stocks dropped .47 percent to 273.09 and the real estate index opened at 266.40, down .53 percent.
