Frank, Yen, Egyptian Pound Outpace Other Currencies

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .129 percent, Thursday, against most of the major currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.80, down .131 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .142 percent to 4.9389 shekels and the pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8932, down .022 percent.

The Swiss frank rose .339 percent to 4.0256 shekels, while the Japanese yen rose .049 percent, 100 yen buying NIS 4.8809. The Egyptian pound, which normally follows the dollar, was set at .6311 shekels, up .032 percent.
