Cypriot Leaders to Meet in USA Next Month

Cypriot leaders plan a meeting in the United States next month, under the auspices of the UN Security Council, in order to attempt to put an end to the longterm dispute on the island. In 1974, the Turkish army occupied a third of Cyprus, dividing it de facto into two countries. The UN recognizes only the southern region where Greek is the official language.
