Yehudah Katz is known for his Shlomo Carlebach-inspired folk rock with Jewish themes. Shaanan Street is known for his sarcastic, political hip-hop lyrics mixed with funk and Middle Eastern sounds. They will perform on stage together for two shows.
According to concert promoter Nadine Levine, "this will be a unique evening mixing the spiritual music of Yehudah Katz with the funky Yerushalmi hip hop of Shaanan Street. Spirituality is the new hip on the Israeli chiloni street." Katz recently released the album Not Without You which features Israeli musician Gilad Vital. The Tel Aviv concert will be Dec. 15th at the Shamayim Center. The Jerusalem concert will be Dec. 17th at the Yellow Submarine.
