The Samaria Council stated that the confrontation between Israeli soldiers and Jewish youth at an army base only lasted minutes and that the incident is being exaggerated. At last 17 people were arrested for breaking into an Israeli army base in an apparent attempt to prevent the demolition of a Jewish community in Samaria. 

The Samaria Council stated, "The Defense Minister is worthy of condemnation... for the cynical use of Israeli soldiers and police for unnecessary demolitions."
