Kinneret Water Level Down Half a Centimeter in 24 Hours

The water level in the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) went down half a centimeter in the past 24 hours and was reported, Tuesday morning at 213.7 meters below sea level, 70 centimeters below the lower red line and approaching the black line, where pumping water from the lake must be stopped out of concerns for the quality of the water.

The Water Authority says Israel's largest freshwater source has gone down 30 centimeters since the start of the hydrological year. During the rains of November, the lake rose by a centimeter.
