The UNIFIL command on Monday night condemned the firing of a Katyusha rocket at Israel earlier. The rocket, fired from a village in south Lebanon, failed to clear the border fence and instead landed in a village on the Lebanese side of the border. A female resident of the village was badly injured in the explosion.
A UNIFIL statement said that this was the third security incident in the area in the past weeks. On Friday, four UN troops were injured in an explosion, and several weeks ago terrorists fired several Katyusha rockets into Israel.
