Prices were down slightly, Monday morning, in mixed trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA composite index slipped .12 percent in the first quarter hour of trading to 977.59, while the TA 100 reached 987.13, a decline of .14 percent, including a .15 percent drop by the Maof 25 most-widely-capitalized stocks to 1,085.52. The 50 companies just outside the TA 100 rose .08 percent to 348.39.
Leading the gainers were the bank stocks, which rose .39 percent to 973.63 as the financial institutions index stood at 923.35, up a tenth of a percent, including a .26 decline by the insurance issues to 1,090.34. The biomed stocks rose .19 percent to 719.03, while the rest of the technology index slipped .08 percent to 283.12. Communications stocks rose .05 percent to 765.52 while the oil and gas index fell .32 percent to 1,175.44. The real estate index stood at 272.55, down .34 percent
