Jerusalem Approves Jewish Building in Arab Neighborhood

The local planning council of the Jerusalem municipality has approved the rezoning of a building in the Arab neighborhood of Ras Al-Amud. 

Since 1967 the property was used by the police. department. Now it has returned to the hands of the Bukharian Trust. The property has been renovated for 17 residential apartments which will be marketed to Jewish families. 

Ras Al-Amud is a predominantly Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem next to the ancient Mount of Olives cemetery. Next to it is Ma'ale HaZeitim, a predominantly Jewish neighborhood.
