On Thursday, the Space IL project will launch the first ever Israeli rocket to the moon. The projects website states the intend to " become the first team to successfully launch, fly and land a robotic spacecraft on the Moon." President Shimon Peres will visit the Israel Aerospace Industries facility for the launch.

The President will meet with project developers and young Israeli scientists. He will receive a comprehensive overview of the process of building the spacecraft and the progress of the project.
