Barak Can't Stop Labor No-Confidence Motion

Defense Minister Ehud Barak asked Labor party leader Shelly Yechimovich and Knesset faction leader Eitan Cabel, Sunday evening, to withdraw a motion of no-confidence, to be introduced Monday, on the dignity of women in the Israel Defense Forces and lack of implementation of recommendations of the Segev report on integrating women in the IDF.

Barak called the motion, "the needless crossing of a line that does not have to be crossed." He said that the proper place to address the question is in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, adding that the motion could hurt the IDF and its commanders. The two Labor leaders turned him down.
