Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished Sunday's first day of the trading week with modest to moderate losses. The TA composite index slipped two tenths of a percent to 975.49, while the TA 100 closed at 987.51, down .21 percent, including a slip of .08 percent to 1,084.33 by the Maof 25 most-widley-invested stocks.
Rising .23 percent were the 50 stocks below the TA 100, which finished the day at 334.86 and most of the technology issues, which closed at 278.29, while the biomed stocks declined 1.26 percent to 724.18, and the communications index closed at 778.09, down 1.69 percent. With the insurance companies falling 1.31 percent to 1,039.09, the financial institutions closed at 894.39, down .54 percent, including a .34 drop by the bank stocks to 945.92. The oil and natural gas index declined .37 percent to 1,170.27 and the real estate index closed at 278.36, down .88 percent.
