Rabbi Ofir Cohen was appointed, Thursday to head the Tenufa Administration, which deals with the nearly 10,000 Jews uprooted from Gaza and northern Samaria in the government's Disengagement program of 2005. He replaces Bentzi Lieberman, who was recently appointed to head the Israel Lands Administration.
Dr. Cohen lived in Gaza Jewish community of Kfar Darom. November marked the 11th anniversary of a terrorist roadside bomb attack in which one of his children lost her legs and two other children also suffered serious leg wounds. The Tenufa Administration is at a critical stage in dealing with claims of the evictees against the state.
