Attorneys for the Honenu legal assistance organization said that a Jerusalem court on Monday afternoon had released to house arrest two girls who had been arrested Sunday after an alleged scuffle with Arabs on the Jerusalem light rail. The girls were released from jail and will instead remain under house arrest for four days.
The court initially ordered them released Monday, but police appealed, claiming they needed more time to build their case. The court agreed, and the girls remained in jail a second night Monday, before being released Tuesday morning.
