In a dramatic scene at the conclusion of the trial of Amjad Awad, one of the murderers of the five members of the Fogel family of Itamar, MK Michael Ben-Ari attempted to attack the terrorist. He was held back by security personnel. “I will chop your head off,” Ben-Ari shouted at the terrorist minutes before his conviction was announced.
Right-wing activists who had protested and demanded that Awad be given the death penalty were removed from the court. Ben-Ari was allowed to remain, as he has parliamentary immunity.
