Shalom: No Negotiations with Hamas

Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said on Sunday that a unity government between Hamas and Fatah is established, the Israeli government will no longer be able to negotiate with the PA leadership, since part out it will outwardly be calling for Israel's destruction.

Shalom told Arutz Sheva that it is logical is that Israel will not negotiate with a PA government of which Hamas is a major partner. He rejected arguments that just as the PA does not tell Israel who should be in its government, Israel should not interfere in the PA government.

“Some people say that the PA does not demand that Yisrael Beiteinu be removed from the government as a condition for negotiations, but this is a far-fetched comparison,” Shalom said. “Has Yisrael Beitenu ever call to destroy Palestinians?”
