Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate losses in mixed trading on Thursday. The TA composite index closed at 918.62, down 1.02 percent, as the TA 100 declined 1.06 percent to 926.87, including a 1.12 drop by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues to 1,017.64.
Hardest hit were the communications stocks, which fell 2.44 percent to 755.50, followed by the insurance index, which closed the trading week at 954.23, down 2.15 percent on the day, as the financial institutions declined 1.83 percent to 814.75. The oil and natural gas stocks rose 1.11 percent to 1,132.34, while the biomed stocks picked up .11 percent to 703.15. An eight tenths of a percent loss by the other technology issues to 259.83, gave the Blue Tech index a closing figure of 259.02, down half a percent. The real estate index closed at 263.35, down 1.06 percent.
