Lebanon Against Sanctions on Syria

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour of Lebanon said, Thursday, that his country would refuse the Arab League effort to impose sanctions against Syria for its violent crackdown on dissent. Interviewed by a local radio station, ahead of a meeting by leaders of Arab League countries in Cairo, Mansour said Israel's northern neighbor would decide whether to vote or abstain, depending on the discussion.

A few weeks ago, Lebanon voted against suspending Syria from the league, siding with the Damascus government and that of Yemen.
