Kadima Activists to Demonstrate at Livni's Home

Opponents of Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni within her Kadima party are calling for a demonstration outside her home on Wednesday, in which they will demand that she "wake up the party and return it to its former self." The call, issued by the Yalla Kadima website, cites the party's fall in the polls, criticism by the state comptroller and the party or its Knesset faction's inability to function efficiently, in a united way, as an opposition entity.

Website editor Amir Segal criticized the party for closing its Knesset faction meetings to party activists and the media, as well as for the its fiscal problems, which were attributed to high salaries. He said activists and other party members were not getting the appropriate answers and claimed more and more of the party's Knesset members are calling for an earlier than scheduled date for the party's leadership primaries.
