The United States Department of State announced, Monday evening, that Ambassador Robert Ford is not returning to Syria, as previously announced.

Ford left Damascus about a month ago, following threats on his life, amid the rising violence stemming from President Bashar Al-Assad's crackdown on opposition forces.
