Comptroller's Staff to Grow

The Knesset Finance Committee approved, Monday, two additional staff members for the State Comptroller and Ombudsman's Office, bringing the staff to 580 without raising the budget for the office. The positions are scheduled to be filled in 2012, in response to a growing number of complaints by the public.

Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni told Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss, "During your term, the [office of] state comptroller has become an influential institution in real time and its critiques are heard and change priorities in real time and not long enough after people have forgotten what they are discussing."
