Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened with modest losses, Monday morning. During the first half hour of trading, the TA composite index was down .26 percent at 963.46, while the TA 100 stood at 973.67, down .29 percent, including a .35 percent decline by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues to 1,071.14. The 50 stocks just below the TA 100 rose .21 percent to 337.07.
The biomed issues rose .27 percent to 721.37 while the other technology stocks slipped three tenths of a percent to 271.27. The real estate index declined .49 percent to 273.94, while the financial institutions index posted an opening 876.50, down half a percent. The oil and gas stocks were down .46 percent at 1,178.83 and the communications stocks stood at 827.54, down .72 percent.
