US to Issue Warning on Iran's Central Bank

The United States Treasury  is expected to issue a finding, Monday, that Iran, including its central bank (Bank Markazi) is a “jurisdiction of primary money laundering concern,” but there won't be sanctions on the Iranian Central Bank or bans on Iran’s oil and gas sector out of concern over  a spike in oil prices. The move, coupled with State Department sanctions against Iran's energy industry, follows recent disclosures about the Islamic Republic's alleged role in terrorism and nuclear weapons proliferation.

Britain and Canada are also expected to announce sanctions on Monday. The European Union is expected to announce sanctions next week.
