More than six years after the government removed them from Gaza, residents of the caravilla modified mobile home site in the Ashkelon Coast community of Nitzan found themselves without a roof over their head, Sunday, due to the inclement weather.
The roofs were blown from their places by high winds, as were roofing tiles. Power poles and trees also came down, causing damage to homes, vehicles and streets. One resident reported flooding. Chairman Yair Farjoun of the Ashkelon Coast Council said the storm provided a reminder of the temporary nature of the homes and called on the government to provide a permanent solution.
