David Meidan Named Coordinator for Missing and Captive

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu named David Meidan, Sunday, to be his coordinator on matters involving captive and missing Israelis. Meidan replaces reserves general Ilan Biran, who asked to resign after serving ten years in that capacity.

Meidan was cited for his role in the return of abducted soldier Gilad Shalit. It was reported earlier this month that he would go to Turkey to lead efforts at mending Israel's relations with the government in Ankara.
