Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange reported moderate to sharp declines at the end of trading on Sunday, following a slump in the last hour. Even the bond index, which finished in the black against losses by the other indices late last week, closed a quarter of a percent down at 273.44. The TA composite index finished the week's first day of trading at 965.96, down 2.47 percent, while the TA 100 fell 2.56 percent to 976.51, including a drop of 2.61 percent to 1,074.92 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The real estate index closed at 275.28, down 1.98, while the communications stocks declined 2.26 percent to 833.57 The oil and gas index closed at 1,184.22, down 2.76 percent. With bank stocks falling 2.88 percent to 925.87, the financial institutions finished the day at 880.94, down 2.24 percent. A 1.5 percent loss by the biomed stocks to 719.42, coupled with a 3.09 decline by the other technology stocks, produced a 270.16 close for the Blue Tech index, also down 2.88 percent.
