The Interior Ministry announced Sunday that it had authorized plans for the construction of some 3,900 homes in northern Israel. Some 3,000 of the homes were authorized for Arab villages, while the rest will be built in Nahariya and several kibbutzim in the area. Of the 990 homes to be built in Jewish towns, 800 will be built in Nahariya.

The plans were approved in a recent meeting of the Ministry's Northern District Planning Committee.
