Shekel Down, Euro Beats Dollar

The official value of the shekel declined by an average of .252 percent, Friday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.731, up .08 percent, while the Euro rose .552 percent to 5.0458 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.9011, up .521 percent, and the Japanese yen rose .374 percent, 100 yen buying 4.8609 shekels. The Canadian dollar slipped .085 percent to NIS 3.6285 and the Australian dollar was fixed at 3.7299, down .462 percent.
