The Health Ministry announced, Monday afternoon, that 245 medical residents did not show up for work shifts that started Monday morning. Earlier, it was reported that about 180 interns did  not go to work.

The absentees are protesting their status in the latest collective bargaining agreement between the Israel Medical Association and the government.
