A touring route featuring the biblical history of Hevron is scheduled to be dedicated with a tour on Friday morning, ahead of Shabbat Hevron, when thousands are expected to read the portion of Genesis dealing with Abraham's purchase of Me'arat Hamachpelah, the Cave of the Patriarchs. The tour is scheduled to start at 8:30 on Tel Hevron and make its way to Me'arat Hamachpelah.

In addition to Me'arat Hamachpelah, Hevron served as King David's capital, one of the biblical points to be stressed during the tour.
