New York: Hopes for More Arrests in Anti-Semitism Wave

Police in New York expressed hope, over the weekend, that Friday's arrest of a Jackson Heights man in connection with the spraying  swastikas at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Queens the previous weekend would lead to more arrests in connection with a recent wave of antisemitism in the city. Police say 40-year-old Franco Rodriguez also incriminated himself with vandalizing a church and two public libraries but believe he hit a fifth site, as well.

On Friday, cars were discovered torched in Jewish neighborhoods and swastikas and anti-Jewish grafitti were sprayed on park benches. A Jew was attacked on his way home from Friday-evening services in Williamsburg and was hospitalized in serious condition.
