Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted moderate to sharp gains in light, domestic trading on Sunday. The TA composite index rose 2.19 percent to 1014.33 as the TA 100 closed at 1,026.93, up 2.32 percent, including a 2.49 percent jump by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the oil and natural gas stocks, which rose 4.55 percent to 1,233.52, followed by the real-estate index, which finished the day at 289.02, up 3.22 percent. With the insurance issues rising 2.69 percent to 1,090.49, the financial institutions closed at 940.54, up 2.56 percent, including 2.46 rise by the bank stocks to 995.53. The biomed issues rose 2.07 percent to 756.84 while the rest of the technology stocks closed at 281.54, up 1.87 percent. The communications index rose 1.36 percent to 894.18 and the Ma'ala organization's socially concerned stocks closed at 862.98, up 1.48 percent.
