Lieberman Threatens Lawsuit Over Security Report

Attorneys for Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Sunday that they were preparing a libel lawsuit against the Associated Press and the publication Israel Defense, for claiming that he had been kept out of the loop on important security matters when he served in Ehud Olmert's government as the minister for strategic matters. The attorneys demanded an immediate retraction and apology from both sources, saying that such action were not forthcoming, Lieberman would sue for damage to his reputation.

According to the report from several years ago, an Israeli source told Israel Defense, and was quoted by  the AP, as saying that Lieberman was not given information on sensitive matters. The source did not know why Lieberman was kept out of the loop, the reports said. The story was refuted by Olmert, Lieberman's attorneys said.
