MK Schneller: Religious Zionism is on an Extremist Path

Member of Knesset Otniel Schneller said, Friday, "In the future, the religious Zionist movement will lose its relevance, will become more hareidi and extremist in its behavior, and become closed and separatist." Speaking at a gathering in Netanya on how Israel will look in 2025, the Kadima party lawmaker explained, "Today's religious Zionist leaders don't understand the size of the historical responsibility to preserve the integrity of the people and the land of Israel as a Jewish, Zionist and democratic state against the post-Zionist movements who seek to turn Jewish Israel into a state for all the peoples."

Schneller said, "The religious Zionist public must wake up and make the integrity of the people at the top of the agenda, in conjunction with religious Zionist goals, through building the common denominator in creating the state's Jewish character and our security-political future, and exchange the orange ribbon with a blue and white flag." The orange ribbon came into use as a symbol of protest against the state's uprooting of Jews from Gaza and northern Samaria in 2005, which Schneller supported.
