Modest to moderate gains were the order of the day on most of the indices as the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed another week of trading on Thursday. The TA composite index rose .91 percent to 992.64, while the TA 100 finished the day at 1,003.66, up .95 percent, including a 1.16 percent rise by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested stocks to 1,105.84.
Leading the way were the oil and natural gas issues, which closed at 1,179.86, followed by the communications stocks, which rose 1.13 percent to 882.16. The biomed issues finished the day at 741.51, up 1.08 percent while the rest of the technology stocks rose .81 percent to 276.37. The financial institutions posted a 917.02 closing, up .41 percent, and the real estate index was unchanged at 280.01
