The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose, then fell in mixed trading, almost an hour after Monday's delayed start of trading. The TA composite index slumped .62 percent to 990.16, as the TA 100 declined .69 percent to 1,001.92, including a 1,102.11 posting by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested stocks, down .89 percent.
Leading the early gainers were the insurance stocks, which rose .47 percent to 1,068.80. A .44 percent decline by the bank stocks to 990.02 made for an unchanged financial institutions index at 928.02. The biomed issues rose .42 percent to 733.49, while the other tech stocks rose .19 percent to 279.53. The real estate index was up .09 percent at 284.06 while the oil and gas stocks were down .36 percent at 1,145.17, despite the gas find at the Dolphin I well, announced yesterday. The communications stocks declined .93 percent to 873.06.
