Shekel, Dollar Down Slightly


The official value of the shekel declined an average of .26 percent, Friday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar remained unchanged at NIS 3.665, while the Euro rose .406 percent from Thursday's rate to 5.0753 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8693, up .049 percent, while the Japanese yen slipped .0006 percent, 100 yen buying 4.6798 shekels. The South African rand rose 1.259 percent to .4664 shekels and the Swiss frank fell .346 percent to NIS 4.1471.
