A two-point proposal is being developed to prevent demolitions of Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria, according to Friday's edition of BeSheva. The bills address the Supreme Court's ruling that homes built on private land must be destroyed.
Under the first multi-party proposal, the Planning and Building Law would be amended to prevent military or civilian personnel from evicting someone from his or her home, except under ruling by a district or magistrates court with authority to deal in land matters, which does not include the Supreme Court. The second bill would amend the Lands Law to define any property where the state assisted would be thought of as state property. Anyone who can prove ownership can apply for compensation, based on the price of the undeveloped property.
