Britain and France will abstain from the vote in the United Nations Security Council on the Palestinian Authority's bid to be accepted by the UN as a sovereign state, according to senior Security Council figures cited, Thursday evening, by the Cable News Network. Other council figures told Agence France Presse that Colombia  will also abstain.

A diplomatic source at the international organization said there's no chance the PA will get the nine votes they need on the nine-member council to pass the resolution.
