The Jerusalem municipality petitioned the Supreme Court, Thursday, to instruct the management of Channel 10 television to move its operation to the capital's city limits, as required by the law governing the Second Broadcast Authority, which covers commercial broadasting. The petition was filed after the station announced it was moving its operations to Neve Ilan, to the west of Jerusalem.
The city contends that a prior court decision that allowed Channel 2 to move to Neve Ilan was mistaken in that it only took the expense to the station into account. It also bases its case on Channel 10's promise to move to the capital during discussions on renewal of its franchise.
