The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.665, up .383 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .439 percent. The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8664, up .509 percent and the Japanese yen rose .428 percent, 100 yen buying 4.6981 shekels.
The leading gainer on the day was the South African rand, which rose .744 percent to NIS .4606, followed by the Canadian dollar, which was fixed at 3.6215 shekels, up .729 percent. No change was reported in the Lebanese pound, ten of which can buy NIS .0243.
