An appeal by the left-wing organization ACRI over the presence of security guards in Jewish enclaves in Jerusalem may end up benefitting Jews, longtime Jerusalem activist Aryeh King told Arutz Sheva. King expressed hope that the appeal would help Jerusalem Jews by forcing police to provide their own, more effective protection.

The private guards employed by the Housing Ministry do not have sufficient authority to effectively fight anti-Jewish attacks, he said. “I prefer that Beit Yonatan and the City of David be protected by police with authority, who can conduct arrests or open fire when permitted,” he said.
