The government has essentially given the IDF a green light to operate in Gaza, according to a military source quoted by Associated Press. The source said the cabinet had given the go-ahead to anything from pinpoint action to a large-scale ground operation in order to stop terrorists’ rocket attacks.
The severity of Israel’s response will depend on the scale of rocket attacks, the source said. Terrorists have fired many rockets at civilians in southern Israel since the weekend, killing one person and wounding others.
