Barak Demands Higher Defense Budget

Defense Minister Ehud Barak (Atzmaut) has called on the Knesset's Finance Committee to increase the defense budget frame by an additional 7-8 Billion Shekels in the 2012 national budget.

Barak claims that increasing the budget is the only way to secure and manage the country's security needs in a "responsible way" while fulfilling a portion of the Trajtenberg recommendations.
