Govt. to Pay for Fee Increase in Day Center Centers

The government will pay for price increases in day care centers and after-school centers for young children, spending NIS 80 million to subsidize increased fees for poor families. The increase will be funded jointly by the Treasury and the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry.

Fees at day care centers are set to go up by 6.6%, and those at after-school centers are to increase by 8.5%. The increase automatically kicks in due to the increased cost of running the centers, the Treasury said.
