Migron to Sign MKs on Anti-Demolition Law

Residents of the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Migron will go to the Knesset to sign lawmakers on a bill by Member of Knesset Zevulun Orlev to authorize the community. Under the proposal, if a claim is made on the property four years after a building has been erected on it, a qualified court can give the claimant other land or compensation.

The Supreme Court has ruled that, under current law, the state must demolish homes built on what it has determined to be private land. According to material accompanying the Orlev legsislation, demolition is the only remedy sought by public bodies who are opposed to Jewish residence in Judea and Samaria.
