Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange registered moderate to sharp losses in mixed trading on Sunday. The Tel Aviv composite index fell 2.07 percent to 1,020.12. The Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues finished the first day of the trading week at 1,145.48, down 1.97 perecent, as the TA 100 declined 2.23 percent to 1,032.15.
Worst hit were the insurance stocks, which fell 4.12 percent to 1,185.58 as the financial institutions closed at 999.27, down 3.34 percent, including a 3.09 percent drop by the bank stocks to 1,063.51. The biomed stocks finished the day at 747.88, down 2.44 percent, while the other technology issues declined 1.73 percent to 275.53. The oil and natural gas stocks closed at 1,137.46, down 1.56 percent, while the same percentage drop meant a 294.10 close for the real estate stocks. The bright spot for the exchange was the media and communications sector, which rose .45 percent to 910.41.
