The official value of the shekel rose an average of .11 percent in mixed trading, Friday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.602, down .497 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .139 percent to 5.1102 shekels. The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8046, down .088 percent and the Japanese yen declined .771 percent, 100 yen buying 4.7467 shekels.
Following their big gains on Thursday, the Australian dollar was set at NIS 3.85, down .386 percent, and the Canadian dollar slipped .071 percent to 3.6391 shekels. The South African rand was set at NIS .4664, up .236 percent, and the the Swedish krona rose .265 percent to .567 shekels.
